Anyway, that aside it's all good… my dad is slowly recovering (though still being sick every day or so), my nan seems to remain indestructible and I'm not sure a mere stroke or pneumonia has a chance of stopping her reaching a 100 in the next month or so.

I'd like the Chaps to stop winning a bit to give me some breathing room in the division but that's just wishful thinking as they are rolling. Road wins are always good and the Chaps are able to do just enough to take down the Blazers at the Rose Garden. No West, Pettit or Spaghetti so a real solid win for the Chaps - led by Chuck Halbert's double-double! Hey, when your stars are injured you'll be surprised who steps up sometimes!
(21-20) Harlem Rens 30 18 17 30 - 95 (Michael Adams 16)
(31-11) Orlando Magic 44 28 31 35 - 138 (Kevin Garnett 22)
The Magic give the Rens sans Wilt a good kicking in Orlando. Garnett was much happier without the Dipper protecting the paint and easily popped in his 22 points in just 18 minutes in a display of extreme efficiency. Michael Adams led the Rens but there were no stand-out performances in a game they never looked like competing in.

(15-25) Minnesota Muski 32 28 29 28 - 117 (Willie Naulls 23)
Minnesota has a few upsets in their 15 wins this year and taking out the Jazz at home counts as one of them. Willie Naulls hit for 23 points and 10 boards and Hot Rod also popped in a double double. Free continues to score at will for the Jazz but they fall 5 points short in the fourth. It always looked like the Jazz were going to make a run, it just never quite eventuated and the Muskies hold on for a great win.
(18-22) Pittsburgh Cond 25 26 32 30 - 113 (Jim Pollard 28)
(15-27) St Louis Spirit 31 34 22 25 - 112 (Hal Greer 22)
Sometimes two of the best teams collide and the match is a disappointment… and sometimes two teams further down the pecking order collide and a great game is played - that's the story today as two losing record teams play a great game where the Spirits jumped out to the early double-digit lead but fought as the Condors kept coming back at them. Hal Greer and Sidney Wicks played a great game for St Louis right throughout both notching 22 points, but Jim Pollard was single handedly keeping the Condors in the game until the fourth; suddenly Mickey Johnson went off hitting all 6 of his fourth quarter shots and scoring the last 6 points for Pittsburgh to hand them their first lead with 30 seconds left and then another short jumper to give them a three point edge.Paul Pierce crazily fouled Sidney Wicks on his 3-point heave at the buzzer but Wicks missed the first free throw to hand the Condors the win (he did make the next two).
(17-24) Baltimore Claws 29 29 21 32 - 111 (Antawn Jamison 25)
(15-25) Brooklyn Nets 25 35 24 28 - 112 (Shaquille O'Neal 20)
Just to put an emphasis on the point the Claws and Nets back up the game above with another thrilling encounter. This time the home team were just able to hang on in a furious finish to a game that was never separated by more than a few points. Jamison paced the Claws with 25 and top 5 performance today, but it was Chuck's big triple double that really kept the pressure on the Nets. Shaq wasn't dominating but his 18 points and 13 rebounds wouldn't have been enough - fortunately for the Nets as Jordan's shot rimmed out, the Big Diesel was there to emphatically slam the rebound back down over Jamison (who out-rebounded Shaq overall). Several reviews later and the last second put-back was deemed good and the Nets get a great win to pile on the misery for the Claws. What's next in Baltimore - apparently no-one is safe except Chuck...
(16-26) Oklahoma City T 28 31 19 28 - 106 (Blake Griffin 23)
(30-11) Detroit Pistons 22 38 22 31 - 113 (Bob Feerick 27)
Pistons keep on rolling with a solid win over OKC. Blake Griffin showed up today in the scorer's column but who is this Bob Feerick character that's ripping up the UBAL? The Pistons are a real contender this year and are more than capable of beating up on the top teams in the league. OKC aren't one of the top teams but they put up a good fight today on the road and make the Pistons work for their 30th win.
(17-24) Miami Floridian 38 35 27 26 - 126 (Charlie Scott 32)
(10-31) Rochester Royal 33 31 26 28 - 118 (Larry Kenon 24)
Rochester can't add to their win totals against Miami. Kenon continues to play well for them but the Pistol is not fully loaded this season and the supporting cast isn't quite up to the job. A very disappointing year for Miami, today Charlie Scott provides some of the spark they've been lacking with 32 points off the bench and the difference in the winning effort.

Indiana in rebuild are able to take down a fellow struggler at home behind the talents of the Yard Bird. Anaheim have struggled to score (and to play defence too really) this year even with scoring machine DT on the roster...
(27-14) Syracuse Nation 26 20 25 29 - 100 (Joe Johnson 19)
(31-12) Cleveland Caval 34 24 34 19 - 111 (Julius Erving 32)
Final game of the day pitches two of our better teams on display. Unfortunately for Syracuse the good doctor was on top form and displayed just how devastatingly good he is as Cleveland dominate Syracuse for 3 quarters. The 11 point differential is actually misleading as this one was never really in question, Lebron had been terrible through 3 barely making a shot, but in the fourth he repeatedly drove and scored in a late surge that almost had Dr J back in the game. Cleveland's big players all double-doubled including Tony Parker; but his came at a cost as he pulled up with a groin strain after his 10th assist and never returned to action - he'll miss the next game too. Lamarcus Aldridge was the star in the last game for Syracuse, tonight he goes 0 for 7...
