The loss of Wade will be huge, but this was a good team before the arrival of mighty Wade. Oscar plays at his usual high standards but the Bobcats are sliding the wrong way from .500 right now.

Anderson are now right back in the playoff picture and should secure their birth, but make no mistake, they are not the favourite for the title this year in the NBA conference. Lakers, Firestones, Bucks and Cincy are the powerhouse teams to be wary of (although if by some miracle the Knicks sneak in at 8 you would rather be the number two seed...). Today the Bucks flex a little muscle and Amare is number 2 on the charts as the Bills have their way with the Dipper.

I have to say I'm surprised by how improved the Chiefs seem to be this year, their trio of point guards is peaking just right and they have Pettit - but today Zo Mourning was the main reason for the win and Yard Bird scores the points, good solid win over the Stars of LA.

So the Braves have been under-performing so far this season and not quite ticking on court... not today! Taking on the would be league leaders they show the spark that Coach O'Donnell has been looking for and kick the Firestone's butt in the process! Blake Griffin was brought in to please the crowd with his high wire act and Carter has been the driving force. Tiny has been anything but for the Firestones and continues his stellar play today, but the game was Braves ball all the way... (I honestly don't want to play Akron next!)...

Meanwhile the other Coach O'Donnell seems to be struggling mightily with a handy squad that doesn't seem to be gelling on the court. A good opportunity to get in the mix today is squandered by a horrible 4th quarter where the Tiggers go from being up 4 to being thumped by over 20 on their home court as Fred Brown got so hot late in the game Stan had to call a timeout so they could ice his fingers. Great win over a conference rival for the Rens!

Road wins in the UBAS are always hard to get so seeing a 5 win team on your schedule looks good at this point of the season... of course getting beat by them is no fun as Willis Reed goes POTD and hot shot supreme torching the Hornets for 31. Ice had a nice game going on in response but the final push just never happened for New Orleans and the Hawks chalk up win number six to the delight of their fans.

Okay, I don't like this. Gotta defend MSG guys, Cousy plays a good game but as soon as Barry goes down the Knicks don't look like a playoff team and today the Rockets roll them over at home. The Garden crowd was all ready for the comeback but every time the Knicks closed it seemed like McAdoo had the answer on hi sway to a hotshot performance and 34 points. Dang, when's the trade deadline? It's easy to say it's not your year but nobody likes losing games...

Sails back above .500 (just) on the back of Walt Frazier as the Royals come up short on their away trip. Before the season you wouldn't class this as an upset bu the way the Royals have been clicking and the way the Sails have failed to find the wind you would have to say it wasn't to be expected, but San Diego are a good squad and even the top teams can't take them lightly...
