Injuries
Justise Winslow 2 - still on the positive side no one of note is injured today after the mass injuries the other day on 107 or 8 or whenever it was. Seems like a tweak this year on injuries, more than usual going over their allocated injuries. Oh well, that's the risk you take with players not rated 82.
Kobe reigns supreme again today with his 34 rating - most on offense of course. There's an OT game today too between Portland and Kentucky...

Houston is the first team to reach 50! Actually that may not be true as day 109 hasn't come out yet and it's completely conceivable that Orlando gets there first. Either way Rocks are a damn fine team and Royals can't hang with them even in Rochester. Funny Adam was upset his Rockets were only rated #4 in Stan's formulaic system! They're actually really #2 and arguably higher - again depending on the outcome of the Orlando game that was yesterday (or later today, or.. well, before this one at least). CP3 turned up in 25 mins with 17 and 13. Gobert grabbed a board every 2 mins and Rubio dished 10 dimes (42 overall is high). Pete was the lone pistoleer for Rochester... Houston title favourites yet? Maybe...

Oaks and Claws is a fairly predictable outcome as the ABA cellar dwelling Oaks are beat up by the Claws. Remember when Adam gloated that Oaks had more wins than the Claws? Ha, not so much any more. Balanced attack but Cousy and Christie go to work - check out Doug's 10 assists! Towns is the best player on Oaks right now and almost certainly in the future. Love his impact in his rookie year here...

Condors bounce back quickly from being dicked by their lock-bowl opponents Trenton. Recent HoF addition AI gets his and Boogie and Elgin light up the board, but no defense in OKC meant that the Condors were able to shoot a blistering 62.5% and win comfortably. Their race with Trenton has made for interesting chatter on Slack (sorry for those still waiting for the email chain) - there's actually a good chance both make it if the Spurs can't hold on to their rating. DeAndre goes 16 and 15 today in the win.

Amigos show no sign of letting go of their hold on a playoff spot in the ABA. Boston are in a battle to try and stay away from the NBA playoffs with the KC Kings. Whichever team accidentally wins the most will have to get knocked out in 4 by Houston or Orlando. Good news today in that Anaheim wanted this one as they close in on 40 wins. Lillard 25 and 9 dimes and Grandmama with his double double gets it done. Harden has a big beard, gets points but doesn't get the win.

Outspoken Kentucky GM Jeff Kik has been letting his opinions fly around the un-American-ness of not standing for the national anthem. I understand patriotism, it's always an emotive subject, but I can't help thinking that sometimes we put too much stock in where we're from and not enough in where we're going. One thing I always try to explain with my own father when his 50s British racist/sexist/elitist BS comes in is that love is always going to be greater than hate, no matter what it's form and tolerance over intolerance would be a good place to start. I love MLK's ideas that you can't fight racism with racism, and that extends to all types of behaviour. One could almost say you can't fight hate with hate, the only way to stop hate is to show love - oh yes, I just metaphorically hugged a tree in my blog. Anyways, the state of the nation is much like the state of the world as we swing dangerously towards the right again, remember there's not much in extremes that's a good thing. With that off my chest the Blazers went in and kicked the dwindling playoff hopes of the Kentucky faithful into touch courtesy of Richard Jefferson, Zeke (nice double-double) and Draymond Green's all round play. Jabbar's 4 points and 5 rebounds seem to reflect the Kentucky team right now which seems to have run out of steam a bit. On the positive side look at Biedrins go!! This OT was definitely top tier game for the day and a few players rose to it - Yardley was 7 for 11 and Guerin 9 of 15 with 25 points.

Love not hate, deep breath... okay, costly upset in San Diego where the hard-chasing and heavy winning San Diego Qs still seemed shell-shocked from being beaten up by the Squires in their previous game. This one back at home was overlooked by Qs and Suns took full advantage to shock the home town faithful with a second half comeback and an individual battle between Kobe Bean and Jrue Holiday. If Jrue ever stays healthy he'll be a decent player in our leagues and a star in the NBA. Today he drops 30 on 13 of 22 shooting to lead the Suns. Is Kobe sad to see Brandon Roy return? Were they better without him? Qs will regroup and come back at Utah, Virginia and Memphis (or else).

Whilst I practise tolerance I'm not going to rip into the Nets for their season so far other than to say they're bad. Every time I writeup a game of theirs they lose (what are the odds?!) and Zach LaVine is their leading scorer - and Zach is barely an average player in today's NBA. 86 points and Zach LaVine is the only player in double digits for the Nets, in fact no player has double digits in any category for Brooklyn except those 16 points on 14 shots. McGinnis was the beast he always promises to be today, 28 points and 16 boards, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

End of the writeup and do you find that you kinda get stale by the end? I do, often if you're unfortunate enough to be at this end you get the short straw. Toronto, though gets the better end of said straw today thanks to the Mailman's 38 points and Gasol's double-double. This is a championship contending roster whatever Jose says - the question though is can they mesh in time to upset the big boys in the NBA? Denver aren't going to make playoffs but can still give you a matchup at home, today not so much as Rice was cooking on his own.

What there's another game? I miscounted? And it's another super high quality top of the ABA team in the Muskies of Minnesota. These guys are super tough - Arizin and Peja have green light to chuck away, Pettit is the anchor of everything and Kidd is happy just dishing away. Could be the toughest team in the ABA? Likely a super tough playoff opponent and could go deeper than a Peja shot (4 of 11 trifectas). Did I say Muskies won? They did.
